Five arrested during DUI checkpoint in Lompoc

A DUI checkpoint overnight in Lompoc netted five arrests.

Officers set up that checkpoint in the 1700 block of North H Street for northbound traffic. They screened more than 1700 vehicles. As a result one person was arrested for DUI, officers say the driver had a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit. One person was arrested for drunk in public, two people were driving on a suspended license and one person was unlicensed.
