Five Central Coast baseball players earned All-CIF recognition on Tuesday by the the Southern Section Baseball Coaches' Association.
Three players from the Los Padres League, Felipe Gonzales, Lucas Martin and Anthony Slikker were honored in Division 5.
Gonzales led Santa Ynez with a .480 batting average and .540 on-base percentage. The LPL Most Valuable Player scored 29 runs and collected 29 RBI for the Pirates, who advanced to the CIF quarterfinals and finished 22-7 overall.
Left-handed pitchers Martin and Slikker were instrumental in Lompoc High's 22-7 season and CIF semifinal run. The two seniors combined for 15 complete games, 7 shutouts and 19 wins.
Martin posted an 11-5 record with 10 complete games and 4 shutouts. He struck out 123 in 98 innings and posted an 1.50 ERA.
Slikker went 8-1 with 5 complete games and 3 shutouts. He struck out 78 in 67 innings pitched and compiled an 1.04 ERA.
Dunn Academy's Ryan Layton and Geoff Billock were named to the Division 7 Team. The Earwigs finished the season 14-5 and advanced to the CIF semifinals for the second year in a row.
Layton earned a spot after hitting .404 at the plate with 20 RBI. He also went 10-1 on the mound with a 0.91 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 61 innings.
Billock finished the season with a .422 batting average and 18 RBI.
