Officials say five San Luis Obispo stores sold tobacco to minors during a compliance check operation on Feb. 19.
The San Luis Obispo Police Department and County Public Health's Tobacco Control Program sent two teens to 44 locations in the city.
According to the Health Department, the five store that sold tobacco to minors were: 7-11 on Monterey Street, Cloud 9 on California Boulevard, Conserve Fuel on Santa Rosa Street, The Sanctuary Tobacco Shop on Chorro Street, and Laguna Smokes on Los Osos Valley Road.
Officials say one of the five clerks did not ask the minor for identification.
The tobacco sting is an ongoing effort to reduce tobacco access to youth.
