Five TD game earns Scotty Cusack FNH Player of the Week

Scotty Cusack is the season's first two-time Friday Night Highlights Player of the Week winner. The St. Joseph High senior compiled 240 total yards of offense and scored 5 touchdowns in the Knights' 49-16 win at Pioneer Valley. The victory clinched the program's first-ever piece of a Pac 7 League title and completed a worst to first comeback from a season ago.

Cusack rushed for 88 yards on 5 carries and scored 2 rushing TDs. He also caught 6 passes for 152 yards and 3 more TDs.

Three of his touchdowns went for 46 yards or longer.

Templeton quarterback Alex Elterman, Arroyo Grande quarterback Matt Willkomm, SLO High senior Garrett Giovannelli and Lompoc's Nikko Hayes were this week's other finalists.

Week 0 - Alex Elterman, Templeton - 289 passing yards, 3 TD passes; 95 yards rushing

Week 1- Tyler Baty, Mission - 276 passing yards, 4 TD in upset 47-14 win over #1 Rio Hondo

Week 2 - Josh Jeter, Paso Robles - 191 rushing yards and 2 TD in 49-7 win at Santa Ynez

Week 3 - Elijah Holt, Arroyo Grande - 8 carries, 126 rushing yards, 3 TD in 35-7 win at Cabrillo

Week 4 - Bryce Moses, Cabrillo - 300 rushing yards, 4 TD in 55-20 win against Santa Maria

Week 5 - Scotty Cusack, St. Joseph - 159 total yards of offense, 2 TD in 22-10 win at Righetti

Week 6 - Nick Hill, San Luis Obispo - 3 interceptions, including a pick-six returned 50 yards to seal the win in a 35-21 win at Pioneer Valley

Week 7 - Dan Beavers, Morro Bay - 2 interceptions returned for TDs, touchdown catch and a touchdown pass in Morro Bay's 38-8 win over Santa Ynez

Week 8 - Grant Alton, Arroyo Grande - 17 Tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 sacks, plus 1 catch on offense

Week 9 - Scotty Cusack, St. Joseph - 240 total yards of offense and 5 Tds in St. Joseph's 49-16 win over Pioneer Valley to clinch share of Pac 7 League title
