Flames destroy Santa Barbara apartment

Santa Barbara fire crews are calling an apartment a total loss after an early morning fire.
The flames broke out just before 4 a.m. in the 1400 block of Pitos Street.
When firefighters arrived the end unit of a four-unit apartment complex was engulfed in flames.
Only one person and his dog were inside, but they managed to escape unharmed.
The other units were evacuated.
Fire investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the blaze.
