San Luis Obispo High running back Erick Cordova becomes the second Tiger this season to receive the Friday Night Highlights Player of the Week honor.
Cordova ran wild against St. Joseph last Friday in the Tigers' 36-29 PAC-7 League victory that kept their title hopes alive. Cordova rushed for 227 yards on 17 carries and scored 1 touchdown. He also had an 18 yard reception.
A humbled Cordova received a gift card from our Player of the Week sponsor Subway. "I've never really had that titleship before so it felt really good but otherwise it's a team effort so I have to give benefit to my team also because I wouldn't have done it without them," said Cordova.
This week's runners-up are Lompoc running back Lavon Coleman, Templeton junior Matt Arace and Cabrillo's Dan French.
