What your preschoolers eat could predict their risk for heart disease later in life.
Researcher in Toronto studied more than 1,000 three to five year-old children. They looked at the weight and cholesterol levels, as well as surveys their parents filled out about their eating habits.
They found children who did not eat a variety of healthy foods were more likely to have the precursors for heart problems as adults.
Experts say parents should provide access to healthy foods. They want parents encourage children to listen to internal cues to determine when and how much they eat, rather than depending on the TV or parents.
