For the seventh year, a local cafe owner raises money for breast cancer

For the seventh year, a local business owner is organizing and hosting a community-wide breast cancer benefit.

Penny Rodriguez of Penny's All American Café in Pismo Beach is selling t-shirts, mugs, raffle tickets, and putting together a big fundraiser on October 12th.

This year, they're moving to a larger location, the Pismo Beach Vets Hall and they're hoping for a big turnout.

They'll have live music from Steppin' Out and DJ Rawger, and and BBQ dinner.

All proceeds go to a local charity, the Jacqualyn Palchak Cancer Fund.

"I do it for breast cancer in October, but I really do it for the community, for a local. Both my parents died of cancer and I think it's important to try and make a difference," said Penny.

So far, she's raised about 20-thousand dollars over the past seven years.
