Recent Arroyo Grande High graduate Kyle Raubinger has decided not to start his professional career quite yet. Kyle says he will attend Loyola Marymount in the fall to start his college baseball career.
The Baltimore Orioles drafted the PAC-7 League MVP in the 28th round in the June draft. Teams have until Monday, August 15 to sign draft picks or lose their rights to the players.
Kyle says the Orioles were unable to offer a signing bonus comparable to the value of his scholarship at LMU. Kyle will be eligible for the draft again after his junior year at LMU.
Raubinger hit .419 with 7 home runs for the Eagles this spring helping Arroyo Grande win the PAC-7 League title. He also went 9-1 on the mound, posting a 1.25 ERA in 61 2/3 innings pitched.
