SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A former assemblyman denies any wrongdoing and says he has "no idea" what FBI agents were searching for in a raid of his brother's legislative offices.
Former Assemblyman Tom Calderon told the Sacramento Bee in an interview Wednesday (http://bit.ly/192vwEz ) that his work for a Southern California water agency was legitimate.
About two weeks ago, FBI agents searched the offices of his brother, Sen. Ron Calderon, a Democrat from the Los Angeles County city of Montebello. The agents carted away boxes from during the search that lasted more than six hours.
The Calderons are part of a political family that includes a third brother, former Assemblyman Charles Calderon.
Ron and Charles Calderon carried legislation that would have affected the water district.
