RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) - A former Westminster police detective has been found guilty of kidnapping and raping a waitress at gunpoint in a brutal attack.

Prosecutors say a San Bernardino County jury on Wednesday will now have to decide if Marine war veteran Anthony Nicholas Orban was sane at the time of the attack.

During the trial, Orban's attorney said the antidepressant Zoloft threw his client into an unconscious condition that led him to do things he otherwise wouldn't have.

Prosecutors said Orban abducted a woman in 2010 as she walked to her car at the mall, then forced her to drive to a self-storage lot where he sexually assaulted her and shoved a gun in her mouth.

Authorities said the woman escaped when Orban was distracted by an incoming cellphone call.
