Former Morro Bay City Attorney Rob Schultz hired as Town Attorney in Los Gatos

Former Morro Bay City Attorney Rob Schultz has been hired as the new Town Attorney in Los Gatos.

The Los Gatos Town Council appointed Schultz during a council meeting Monday night.

Back in May, current Los Gatos Town Attorney, Judith Propp, told the Town Council she was retiring at the end of 2013.

According to the council, Schultz was chosen from a pool of highly qualified candidates for the position.

Schultz's proposed annual base salary for the new job is $185,000.

"It is an honor to be selected as the Town Attorney, and I am excited about living and working in Los Gatos," said Schultz.

Schultz served as City Attorney for the City of Morro Bay until mid November after the Morro Bay City Council approved a separation agreement. Schultz says he started looking for a new job as soon as he learned there would be a separation agreement.

According to Schultz, he also served as City Attorney for the City of Atascadero, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Pismo Beach, District Counsel for the San Simeon Community Services District, General Counsel for the Successor Agency to the Guadalupe Redevelopment Agency, and Special Counsel for the City of San Luis Obispo.

Schultz says he starts December 12, 2013.
