Former Cal Poly All-American Ramses Barden is making a U-turn and returning to the New York Giants.
The wide receiver underwent a physical Thursday and signed a one year contract to return to the Giants. Barden said to New York area media back in February that it was probably best if he played elsewhere in 2013.
Barden enjoyed a career game against Carolina with 9 catches for 138 yards in week three last season. But he returned to a backup role and had only 4 catches the rest of the season.
Since New York made Barden the 85th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, he has played in 29 career games for the Giants and hauled in 29 receptions for 394 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns.
Ramses holds several Cal Poly records, including most career receptions (209), career receiving yards (4,203) and career touchdown catches (50). He also owns a NCAA record for consecutive games with a touchdown catch.
