Former Cal Poly baseball player Logan Schafer took part in the first triple play of his career while playing for the Nashville Sound on Sunday. Schafer, playing centerfield, chased a ball towards the wall. He got a glove on the drive to center but the ball popped up and hit off his head, he was then able to relocate it and catch it. He then threw to second to force out a runner and then a throw to first forced out another runner.
Schafer is now 25, Nashville is the Triple "A" affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers and Schafer has been playing well for them. In 30 games he's batting .346 with five homeruns and 22-RBI.
