Former Cal Poly All-American Maggie Vessey saw her run toward a spot on Team USA in London come to a disappointing end on Monday night in Eugene, Oregon at the USA Olympic Track and Field Trials.

The 31 year old entered the women's 800 meters final as one of the favorites to earn a spot on Team USA. However, Vessey finished last in the eight-person final with a time of 2:03.44.

Alysia Montano won with a time of 1:59.24. Only the top three finishers qualified for the London Olympics. Vessey missed a spot on Team USA by 4.02 seconds.

She finished fifth at the 2008 Olympic Trials, one second behind the third place finisher.
