A former top aide for a Santa Barbara County supervisor was sentenced in a Santa Barbara County courtroom on Monday for felony perjury charges.

Gilbert Armijo pleaded no contest in November 2009 to a perjury charge stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.

He must serve 90 days in county jail on or before June 8, as part of a three year probation. Part of his sentence also includes a condition that Armijo is not allowed to email or contact anyone from the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office or the Santa Barbara County Superior Court.

Armijo served as an aide to Santa Barbara County 5th District Supervisor Joe Centeno until he stepped down from the position in July 2009.
