The Santa Barbara Breakers will be playing a team of NBA players in a mid-summer Benefit Game Friday, July 26 at San Marcos High School. Tipoff is set for 7 pm.
The NBA team features local products Julyan Stone, a Dos Pueblos High graduate, who plays for the Toronto Raptors, as well as former UCSB stars Orlando Johnson, who's with the Indiana Pacers and James Nunnally of the Miami Heat. James Ennis, a former Long Beach State star from Ventura, the Los Angeles Clippers' Travis Leslie, Zach Andrews of the Los Angeles Lakers and Quincy Miller of the Denver Nuggets will also take part in the game.
The Breakers will be led by the team's all-time leading scorer Tim Taylor, UCLA grad Billy Knight, 6'9 Isaac Jones, 6'10 NBDL veteran Austin Okosun and 7'2 Brad Kanis. More players will also be added to the Breakers.
The game will Benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs as well as the Santa Barbara Basketball Hall of Fame College Scholarship Fund.
Tickets sold at the door are $5 for adults. Children 14 and under will be admitted free. For further information, contact the Breakers office at (805) 969-7542.
