A former youth baseball coach pleads not guilty to kidnapping and child molestation charges in a Santa Maria courtroom Tuesday, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
Andrew Greenaway was arrested last week for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old boy at the Disneyland Hotel almost 20 years ago.
Greenaway is charged with three felony counts of committing a lewd act upon a child, aggravated kidnapping, and kidnapping with the intent to commit a lewd act upon a child.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives became aware of the incident while investigating a separate case in late 2009.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's department says 46-year-old Andrew Greenaway was a youth baseball coach in Vandenberg Village in 1991. During that summer, Greenaway asked the parents of one of his players if their son could join some of the other teammates for an overnight trip to Disneyland. On the day the team was supposed to leave, Greenaway told the parents that all the other teammates had cancelled, but he was still willing to take the boy on the trip. Detectives believe Greenaway molested the 13-year-old victim while staying at the Disneyland Hotel.
Greenaway is set to appear in court again on Thursday for a preliminary hearing setting.
