Fort Hope hosts annual Wild West Show and Barbecue Fundraiser

Locals came together Sunday for some good food and a good cause.

Fort Hope hosted its annual Wild West Show and Barbecue Fundraiser Sunday afternoon.

Participants signed up to go fishing, milk cows, churn butter, pan for gold, and make candles and ropes. They could even take a shot at archery.

"The kids will be fishing. They'll be making corn husk dolls, panning for real gold, just having a great time, barbecue, and for the adults, there's a silent and live auction where everyone will have a good time raising funds for local kids," said Ken Miles, a Fort Hope volunteer.

Fort Hope is a local non-profit based out of Arroyo Grande. The organization hosts a number of events for children to come out and enjoy the ranch.
