Five days after 20 children and six adults were gun-downed by a lone gunman, the funerals for those lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting continue.

The long ride home for Daniel Barden paused briefly in front of the Newtown Fire Station as first responders saluted the little boy who always said he wanted to be one of them, like his uncles, when he grew-up.

Hundreds of firefighters from across the region lined the route of the procession to honor the 7-year-old.

Two of Daniel's classmates were also buried Wednesday.

Charlotte Bacon wanted to be a veterinarian and loved anything pink, while Caroline Previdi always tried to make people laugh.

Family members say 27-year-old Victoria Soto had a childhood dream: She wanted to be a teacher.

Soto died during the massacre, fighting to protect her students.

So many mourners showed up to remember Soto that hundreds had to stand outside during her funeral.

The grieving will not go away, as the call to action gets stronger.

President Obama announced the formation of a task force led by Vice President Biden.

"I'm convinced we can make a sensible, intelligent way to make the U.S. a safer and stronger place for our kids to learn and to grow," Mr. Obama said.

The president is calling for concrete proposals in January to address gun violence and mental health issues.

"The fact that this problem is complex, can no longer be an excuse for doing nothing," he argued.

At least four more funerals are scheduled for Thursday.

Services for the school psychologist are being handled by her boyfriend, who had planned to propose to her on Christmas Eve.
