Free screening of Silver screen classic, "The Last Picture Show" at SLO Library

As we bid 20-13 farewell and look forward to a new year, you may want to spend some time reflecting on the progress we've made in this country ...and tomorrow (thursday) evening, you can take in a classic film that may give you some perspective...
"The Last Picture Show" is the story of three teens in a small, west texas town in the years leading up to the Korean War.
Sonny and Duane, played by Timothy Bottoms and Jeff Bridges, are best friends and co-captains of the high school football team.
But they're also competitors for the attention of Jacy, the attractive, rich girl in town, played by Cybill Shepard.
That trio is joined by a stellar supporting cast, including Eileen Brennan, Ellen Burstyn, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, and Randy Quaid.
The film is directed by Peter Bogdanovich, and the late Roger Ebert called it "...one hell of a directing accomplishment."
The story is based on the novel by Larry McMurtry and you can catch the screening absolutely free of charge, as part of the San Luis Obispo Library film series, "Watch a Great Book."
The show starts at 5:30 in the Community Room at the main branch in downtown San Luis Obispo.
That's at the corner of Osos and Palm.
