French Hospital receives awards

The doctors and staff of French Hospital Medical Center were in the spotlight Thursday.

The facility was honored for its level of care by three of the nation's leading healthcare ratings organizations. Hospital administrators received those awards Thursday afternoon.

The hospital was listed among the "Top 100 hospitals in the nation for Cardiac Care," "Top 15% in the nation for joint replacement," and the "2008/2009 Consumer Choice Award" in San Luis Obispo County.

French Hospital's president says some big changes are in store for the hospital. Those changes will be announced in three weeks.
