FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - A 26-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of killing one woman and stabbing another woman and a police officer in Fresno.
Fresno police say the man stabbed two women inside an apartment on Monday morning, killing one of them.
Police received a call reporting the stabbing just after 5 a.m.
Chief Jerry Dyer says the suspect stabbed the officer in the back of the head after the officer found him in an alley. The suspect was then subdued with a stun gun.
The officer was alert and in stable condition at Community Regional Medical Center. The second stabbing victim was also hospitalized. She is expected to survive.
Neither the victims nor the suspect has been identified. It was not immediately clear what may have prompted the attack.
