Senior Michael Frigon shined at the plate as the Templeton baseball team opened the 2013 season with a 6-3 non-league win over San Luis Obispo on Tuesday.
Frigon went 3 for 3 with two doubles. He reached base four times and scored twice. Tyrus Yamagata was 2 for 4 with 2RBI and was outstanding defensively and Andy Garretson tripled for the Eagles.
Mitchell Pendley and Mac Lardner took the mound for Templeton and held the Tigers to just four hits in the victory. Garrett Giovannelli had two of the Tigers' hits.
Also on Tuesday, the Arroyo Grande baseball team opened the season with a 4-2 home win over Santa Ynez. The Eagles host Santa Barbara on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
