ESCONDIDO, Calif. (AP) - Police in Escondido say Mexican authorities have captured and returned a fugitive who was wanted for two months for questioning in the killing of his pregnant girlfriend on April 7.
Police tell KFMB-TV (http://bit.ly/NsOQis ) they got a call at 2 a.m. Monday saying that Mexican authorities had turned 21-year-old Anthony Cepeda over to U.S. marshals.
Cepeda is now in Escondido police custody.
Investigators have identified Cepeda as the lone suspect in the shooting death of 18-year-old Virydiana Rodriguez, who was four months pregnant.
Escondido is about 30 miles north of San Diego.
