Friends of a local mother of three who is fighting cancer are reaching out.
There was a fundraiser for Kambria Wesch-Doherty Thursday night.
Right after giving birth to her third child three months ago, doctors discovered neuro-endocrine carci-noma. It's a rare and aggressive cancer.
Fabby Gonzalez is one of Kambria's students at Santa Lucia Middle school. She told KSBY News, "I just want her to know that we really love her and we know this is a hard situation, but we'll get through this and she's tough."
Kambria's mother was moved by all of the people attending the fundraiser for her daughter. She told KSBY, "I'm very amazed. I mean the outpouring over everything people are giving donations and we're not even asking."
There is another fundraiser Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the Cambria Pines Lodge. It will feature live music and a silent auction.
