Organizers of a fundraiser for an Arroyo Grande father who was critically injured in a motorcycle crash last year are lowering the price of a ticket, hoping to draw more interest from the community.
Doug Navolt faces a long road to recovery from a brain injury suffered in the crash, which happened on October 29, 2012. Navolt also suffered other injuries. He needs assistance to walk and his memory has also been affected.
The Navolt family has struggled to pay for costly medical expenses.
KSBY has been following their story since Holly Navolt, Doug's daughter, passed away on Christmas 2011 after receiving a double lung transplant.
A fundraiser for Doug is planned for February 23 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Shouts of Grace Church located at 675 West Grande Avenue in Grover. A $20 donation will buy you a tri-trip meal. The ticket price has been lowered from $25, organizers said. For more information or to RSVP, email Todd at todd_dignan@sbcglobal.net.
