An event Friday is meant to raise cash to help a local kiteboarder who was badly hurt in an accident.

Pismo Beach resident Kinsley ThomasWong is now paralyzed from the neck down after a kiteboarding accident near San Simeon last month. ThomasWong is known for introducing that extreme sport to many here on the Central Coast. He's also the founder of the local company Xtreme BigAir.

Friday, a fundraiser is being held at Zorro's Cantina in Shell Beach to help raise cash for ThomasWong to pay off his $85,000 in medical bills. A portion of Friday's sales will go straight to ThomasWong.

The restaurant is open from 7:30a.m. to 9:00p.m.
