The future of Guadalupe's police chief is still up in the air.
The city council was expected to approve a two year extension of Chief George Mitchell's contract Tuesday night but it's now postponed until Thursday.
The controversy is about where he lives full-time and his use of a city owned car.
The mayor says Mitchell lives in Guadalupe during the week.
He drives a city owned car to his home in Ventura County most weekends.
A closed session meeting is now scheduled for 5 pm Thursday night.
Public comment will be heard before the meeting.
Mitchell's contract expires on Thursday.
