There could be good news at the pump in 2014.
AAA predicts lower gasoline prices this year.
According to AAA, gasoline prices will probably average slightly less in 2014 because of increased refinery capacity and the recent boom in domestic oil production.
In 2013, the average price of gas was $3.49 a gallon nationally. That's the lowest price since 2010.
2012 was the most expensive year. Consumers paid an average of $3.60 a gallon.
Here on the Central Coast, gas prices are a bit higher than the national average.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in San Luis Obispo County is about $3.76. That's up six cents from last week.
In Santa Barbara County, the average is about $3.72 for a gallon of regular gas, up five cents from last week.
