Fourth of July is right around the corner and some drivers are fueling up for their holiday travels.
According to AAA, gas prices have increased in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties since last Fourth of July.
At this time last year the average gas price for regular unleaded fuel was about $3.84 in San Luis Obispo County and today the average price drivers will pay is about $4.09.
Santa Barbara County has seen a similar increase since last year, with a jump from $3.81 to $4.08.
However, AAA statistics also show that gas prices are actually lower today than they were last week in both counties.
The state-wide gas price average is $3.98 with San Diego's average at $4.03, Los Angeles at $4.05, San Francisco at $4.07 and Sacramento at $3.84.
