Gas prices rise, analyst blame tensions in Middle East

Unrest in the Middle East likely means higher gas prices here at home.

Increasing violence in Iraq pushed the price of oil to more than $107 Monday. That's the highest it's been in nine months.

Analysts expect prices at the pump to jump as much as ten cents a gallon; that in turn could affect sales of pickup trucks and SUVs.

AAA reports the national average is $3.66. In California gas is a bit more expensive at $4.08.

In San Luis Obispo County drivers are paying $4.19. In Santa Barbara County it's $4.13.
