Rising gas prices taking their toll

Gas prices are rising nationally, and now the increased cost is fueling higher prices on everything from food to airfare.

Last week American Airlines, Continental, United and U.S. Airways raised prices by $20 to $30.

Other airlines are likely to follow, making the price of anything that needs to be trucked or flown, rise.

Stations across the country are blaming increased costs on turmoil in the Middle East.

KSBY caught up with people in Santa Maria who say high gas prices aren't good for anyone.

"I'm sorry to see the gas prices go up and it makes it hard," said Tami Giese of Santa Ynez.

Florence Wong agreed saying, "If the prices get too ridiculous, we're only hurting ourselves."

The cheapest unleaded gas in Santa Barbara County is $3.67 a gallon at the 76 station on East Clark in Santa Maria.

In San Luis Obispo, Costco sells a gallon of unleaded for $3.66, but you have to be a member to pump.

Lastly in Paso Robles, it's a cent higher than Costco at Valero.
