Pacific Gas and Electric held a meeting about its affect on the Central Coast economy Friday.
Officials spoke about the financial benefits of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
Diablo Canyon employs over 1500 people and donates millions to local schools and other Central Coast organizations.
"Because they're well paid, they live around here, they build homes, they go to grocery stores, they're spending that money and creating jobs," said Kenneth Reiner, the author of the economy impact study.
The GDP from the company is $12.2 billion, which is 10% of the country's economy.
