NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Glen Davis has joined the Los Angeles Clippers in New Orleans but hasn't been cleared to play.
The Clippers, who are taking on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, say Davis has to pass a physical before the former LSU star can suit up.
Davis averaged 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 45 games with Orlando before the Magic bought out his contract, making him a free agent.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers says his past relationship with Davis in Boston made the move a comfortable one for both.
Davis played with the Celtics for four seasons, starting in the 2007-08 campaign, when the Celtics won the NBA title.
Davis says he likes playing for Rivers and wants to be part of a team with the elite players needed to build a title contender.
