Curry Parham led three Knights with 14 or more points as the St. Joseph High boys basketball team cruised to a 67-46 win over visiting Calvary Chapel on Wednesday in a CIF Division 4A first round playoff game.
Seeded third in the division, the Knights improved to 19-7 and play at 14th seeded Ontario Christian on Friday night. Ontario beat California Military 70-30 in its first round game.
Isaac Murillo buried a deep three-pointer right before the buzzer at the end of the first quarter to give the Knights a 15-6 lead. St. Joseph led 33-23 at the half and 52-35 after three quarter.
Parham, a junior, led the Knights with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Case Bruton added 18 points on 8 of 14 shooting.Keith Datu tallied 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Murillo finished with 5 points, 7 assists and 4 steals.
St. Joseph advanced to the quarterfinals last season. The last time the Knights lost a first round playoff game was in 2009 to Calvary Chapel.
