Before Lady Gaga even wrapped her shoots at Hearst Castle, she got a letter of thanks from Governor Jerry Brown today. "I want to personally thank you for the aide and assistance you are providing to Hearst Castle, the communities surrounding San Simeon and the state as a whole." said the governor in the letter delivered to the superstar today.
He seemed especially pleased with her donation to the local community services district to look for new ways of supplying water to the drought-stricken community of Cambria, and for her commitment to do public service productions on the water woes the state is facing. "The state is experiencing an historic drought which threatens our farms, our communities and increases fire danger in both urban and rural areas. I've called on all Californians to conserve water in every way possible and the assistance you are providing will aide in that effort."
The letter goes on to wish her a memorable time while visiting the Central Coast.
Lady Gaga was shooting today at the iconic Neptune Pool which will soon be emptied so the water in it can be used for irrigation purposes around the castle property, and so the state can come up with a repair plan for it as it is currently leaking water. Just last week it was down about 5 inches from capacity. Water is being pumped to a lower reservoir on the property for storage.
State representatives say Lady Gaga paid for water to be pumped from the reservoir so the pool would be full for her video shoot. Starting tomorrow crews will begin the process of pumping that water, and the remainder still in the pool to that reservoir.
