Grapevine portion of I-5 now open

Interstate-5 at the Grapevine was reopened in both directions as of 8:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Craig Rude.

Heavy ice and snow prompted the closure early Tuesday morning. Heavy traffic on Highway 101 and Highway 46 was expected, but the CHP said the short closure did not affect the flow of traffic too much.
