Grass fire burning off Hwy. 166

Santa Barbara County Fire is battling a vegetation fire burning about three miles off Hwy. 166 on the north side Pine Canyon Road in the New Cuyama area.
The fire was reported at 3:22 p.m. Saturday. According to Santa Barbara County Fire, six engines, one water tender and a helicopter are on scene to help.
The fire has started at three acres and, with a moderate rate of spread and occasional wind gusts of 20 mph, is now at just under four acres. Fire crews say steep terrain is making the fight a little more difficult, and they will probably be battling the flames through the night.
