GRID Alternatives installs solar panels on San Luis Obispo homes

Three families are going solar-powered, thanks to GRID Alternatives Central Coast. On Saturday morning, the organization hosted its third annual Solarthon Solar Installation Block Party. GRID Alternatives installed solar panels on three homes in San Luis Obispo. GRID Alternatives is a non-profit focused on bringing solar technology to low-income communities. "Working with affordable housing partners just makes complete sense for us. It's a good way to keep folks in their homes, the dollar savings often times last over 30 years," said Steven Fernandez, the Regional Director of GRID Alternatives Habitat for Humanity also helped put on the event.
