Guadalupe Police host Second Annual Kid's Day in the Park

It was the Second Annual Kid's Day in the Park Sunday afternoon in Guadalupe. The event is put on every year by the Guadalupe Police Department. It kicked off at the Jack O'Connell Park. The event was free to attend and featured a bounce house, dunk tank, live music, and food. Kids could also learn about the Police Department and Fire Department. Both departments also brought a number of their official vehicles to the event. "We're just trying to draw a crowd so that way we can break down the barrier as far as intimidation with police and actually having some time to interact with them," said Ruben Ramirez, a Guadalupe Police officer. Organizers say they plan on hosting another Kid's Day next year. On August 4th, the Fire Department is hosting a benefit barbecue.
