KSBY crews on scene say the evacuated residents in Guadalupe have been allowed to return home.
The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Services says 24 people were evacuated from the area near Pioneer Street because of flooding concerns. It says the Santa Maria River was close to breaching its banks and officials feared it would get worse.
Back in December, the same area flooded after the river overflowed. Several people were evacuated then and forced to spend more than a week in a Red Cross shelter.
