Guadalupe Salad Bowl Festival dishes out green to local deserving student

The Guadalupe Salad Bowl Festival is dishing out some green to a local deserving student.

Righetti High School Senior Adriana Zamudio has been named the first-ever recipient of the Salad Bowl Festival Scholarship.

The Salad Bowl Festival began in October 2010 as a way to showcase its role as a major agricultural producer.

Zamudio will attend California State University Fresno in the Fall and says she may study pediatric medicine. She says she'll also try out for the cheerleading and dance teams. Zamudio has excelled in dance since she began taking class at the age of three. She has even worked as a youth dance instructor.

The 2012 Salad Bowl Festival is October 2012.
