A San Mateo County jury has reached a verdict in the trial of a man accused of killing former Lompoc police officer, Richard May. The jury found Alberto Alvarez guilty of first degree murder with the special circumstance of killing a peace officer, meaning he will face the death penalty.
May was shot to death in 2006 when he was working as a police officer in Palo Alto.
