The rate of gun-related homicides in urban areas is down but firearm suicides are up.
That's according to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Since 2006, the rate of people committing suicide by using a gun increased in nearly 75% of the most populous cities.
Conversely, more than 75% of large cities showed a decrease in gun-related homicides in that same time.
Teenagers were particularly impacted and had higher firearm homicide rates than any other age group.
