Local assemblymember Das Williams worked with other representatives to author a gun control bill that was passed Friday morning.
Williams represents Santa Barbara County.
The State Senate approved AB1014 Wednesday.
It would allow for the temporary removal of firearms from people who are at-risk for committing acts of violence.
The assembly committee on public safety passed it Friday morning.
The bill is moving to a full vote of the Assembly and could reach the floor as early as Friday afternoon.
