It was a scary situation in a Santa Maria neighborhood where police received several 911 calls of shots being fired.
Officer says it happened in the area of Preisker and Benetta around 11:30 pm on Saturday.
Witnesses say the drivers of a white, lowered SUV and a white mid-sized vehicle were chasing one another.
They say those in the vehicles exchanged gunfire.
Neighbors say it's typically a quiet area, but now they're hoping police will beef up their presence in the area.
Eduardo Becerra, resident, said, "I think at the park what is needed is more security and more cops coming around more often."
Officers never found the suspects but they were able to find shell casings from two different weapons.
