Gusty winds and high surf

An offshore flow is creating blue skies and warmer temperatures for the Central Coast, but strong afternoon northwesterly winds are expected all weekend. Overall, this weekend should be sunny with cool mornings.
Next week looks to be sunny and warm with temperatures rising into the 70s.
There is no significant rain in the forecast through the first week in March.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Winds could gust up to 45 miles per hour. The warning stays in effect until 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Drivers of high profile vehicles should be prepared for gusty crosswinds, especially on portions of Highway 1, 41, 101 and 246. Small branches and tree limbs may be downed as well.
There is also a high surf advisory that stays in effect until Monday morning. West and northwest facing beaches could see waves up to 15 feet. This means rip currents will be strong.
The offshore flow should leave the Central Coast Monday through Wednesday, but dry and mild conditions should stick around. There is the potential for moderate to strong northeasterly winds late next week.
