Gutierrez convicted of second-degree murder

A jury in Santa Maria has convicted Moses Gutierrez of second-degree murder for the May 2011 stabbing death of Alex Anzures, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced on Tuesday.

At the time of the murder, Gutierrez was on probation for illegal possession of a knife.

Gutierrez faces a sentence of 16 years to life in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 15.
