A new burger joint in San Luis Obispo is giving back to some local organizations before it even officially opens its doors.
The Habit Burger Grill opened twice Sunday for two, two-hour blocks and it is donating all of the proceeds. The first opening was from noon to 2 p.m.and those proceeds went to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Then they reopened from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and those proceeds will benefit the group Share Our Strength.
"I knew that they were opening for a short time just for the fundraiser, so we came for the 2hour span," said Haley Nahman, a Cal Poly grad. "It turned out they were going to be donating the proceeds, so it was a win-win."
If you missed Sunday's openings Habit Burger is doing a third fundraiser on Tuesday for the SLO YMCA. It officially opens its doors Wednesday.
